Connection is a Leadership Skill
We don’t believe connection is a “soft” extra in leadership.
It's actually one of the most important skills to help people move through change.
In the last post, Laura talked about how people shape what technology becomes. It doesn't happen through systems alone... it happens through conversation, built trust, and connection.
AI can help us gather information, organize ideas, draft messages, etc... but it cannot notice the hesitation in someone’s voice. It cannot rebuild trust after a hard conversation. It cannot help a team feel safe during change.
That part will always belong to leadership.
Gallup’s 2026 State of the Global Workplace report found that only 20% of employees worldwide were engaged with their workplace in 2025. That number stands out to us because engagement is not just about productivity. It is also about whether people feel connected to their work, their team, and their organization.
As AI becomes more common, we believe connection will become more valuable, not less.
Connection is not a bonus.
