Part 6: Fast Change Needs Clear Communication
Assuming people understand more than they do is one of the easiest mistakes leaders can to make during a change. They wonder what is happening, what it means for their role, what is expected of them, and whether they "should already know this".
It's especially true as AI becomes part of the workplace because new tools may be introduced with good intentions, but without clear communication they can create
Clear communication will help people understand the ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ณ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ด๐ฆ behind change, not just the process. It will give them the language and direction they need, and a place to bring questions before confusion turns into resistance.
And this actually connects directly to our last focus: If we understand that people may feel uncertain, then our communication becomes part of how we support them.
People need leaders who are willing to communicate what they know, be honest about what is still unfolding, and keep the conversation open.
And as a leader, your response sets the tone for how the team adapts.
